The parts are dishwasher safe (for me) but the sprocket isn't glued in place (no biggy, just didn't know) and it fell to the bottom and melted. Quick search got me to this part number and I received the part in a matter of days (regular delivery rate). I've had the autofeeder for 5 years now I think. No problems.
If your distribution roller is not extracting food properly, you may need to replace it with this new roller. The life of the roller depends on the food you use. Easy to snap in. The roller comes with the large gear. All you will need to do is remove the bottom of the feeder--comes with instructions.
NOTE: A "textual" description for installing certain parts is supplied with each order, but customers do not always read the follow-up emails/links to an excellent video for taking the feeder apart and replacing those parts.
This is a simple part: Nothing can go wrong with it except wearing out. My interaction with the vendor was at least A+. But... The instructions for how to replace were not quite up to snuff: The text was adequate, but the pictures were not helpful. Diagrams would be better than photos here (black plastic doesn't make for good photos). Despite that, I had no real trouble getting things apart and back together, but I did it mainly by personal examination, not by following instructions.
